Uxbridge secured a dramatic late victory with a stoppage-time winner over Bath City - completing a superb second-half comeback, in the first ever meeting between the sides at Twerton Park on Saturday. The result leaves The Reds sitting pretty at the top of The Southern League Premier South after five games.
With an enforced change between the sticks as Dino Kaiser was recalled by Fulham this week, it meant a start for Kacper Orlowski in goal in an otherwise unchanged line up from the Taunton game last weekend. The match opened with early chances at both ends. In the 8th minute, Bath saw an early effort loop just over the crossbar, as Ollie Chamberlain found space in behind the Reds defence. The visitors though quickly found their footing, and two minutes later, Ollie McCoy nearly opened the scoring by fizzing a dangerous strike past the near post. Bath looked comfortable on the ball, and Uxbridge looked to hit them on the break - as Troy Perez Duah forced a smart save from Wiles-Richards in the Bath goal with a 16th-minute snapshot.
Bath though could have scored towards the half hour as Kieran Parselle’s header was nodded off the line by George Moore. However the hosts were not to be denied and on 34 minutes, a corner was knocked down in the box by Parselle and was smashed home by Scott Wilson on the turn to give Bath the lead. Uxbridge looked to respond before the break,the best chance came to Captain Sam Deadfield, who fired a shot narrowly past the post in the 44th minute, but it was the home side who held the advantage at the break.

Bath looked to assert themselves as the second half began, but Alan Massey set the tone on 55 minutes with some excellent defending to clear a dangerous ball whipped into the box that looked like Jordan Tilson would get on the end of. That defensive stability provided a platform to push forward. On the hour mark, Francis Amartey delivered a great ball in from a wide position, though Moore fired the resulting chance over the crossbar. Ten minutes later, Moore threatened again, after some great setup play from Perez-Duah but he skewed his shot just wide of the target. The pressure though was building and Uxbridge's persistence finally paid off in the 72nd minute. The ball was worked across the pitch to Amartey, who advanced into the box, his low drive took a slight - but crucial - deflection to beat Wiles-Richards and level the match.
The game opened up in the final stages. Bath went close with a header from a corner on 75 minutes that went narrowly wide, before once again Moore was called upon to clear a goalbound header off the line soon after. Uxbridge though also created chances, with the ever willing Caran Martin doing superbly to get into the box on 80 minutes, he laid the ball off perfectly to substitute LIam Prior-Tack who put the ball narrowly wide and it looked like Uxbridge would be leaving with a point.
However the Reds found their magic deep into stoppage time. In the 91st minute, Jake Coomes sent Ollie McCoy in on the left, who did brilliantly to carve out space and get a powerful shot on target, from a narrow angle Wiles -Richards could only parry the initial effort, McCoy though would be first to the rebound, and have the awareness to square the ball across to Prior-Tack, who was perfectly positioned this time to lash the ball high into the net, and send the large band of travelling Uxbridge fans into raptures as they sealed a huge 2-1 victory.
