Tomorrow evening we make the short journey across the M40 to take on The Woods from Northwood.
This season we welcomed Northwood to Honeycroft in September winning the eventful match 2-1 with goals from Dave Thomas and a penalty from Anthony Thomas, during the match we received three yellow cards with the Northwood goalkeeper being dismissed in the 88th minute for Violent Conduct.
Since our first meeting in the Middlesex FA Charity Cup in 1995 which we won 3-1 we have played The Woods on 34 occasions, we have won 17 matches, drawing 3 and losing 14, our record at Northwood Park over our last five visits have been inconsistent with losing 3, drawing 1 and winning just one match.
Our biggest win came in the 1995 FA Cup and in the 2016/17 Southern Football League when we won 5-0, our largest loss came in the 2001/02 Middlesex FA Charity Cup Semi Final when we were beaten 2-6.
The current form for both teams are in stark contrast, over the past five matches Northwood have Drawn two and lost the remainder whereas we have won three and lost two. Our last fixture was a disappointing 2-1 loss away at AFC Dunstable, The OD's took the lead in the 32nd minute before Harry Tuckers header rattled the crossbar, on the hour mark Dylan Kearney made it 20 goals for the season, the second half was a tense affair with both teams having numerous chances, on 66 minutes The OD's made it 2-1, with both sides going for the jugular a clear handball inside the OD's penalty area left the management, players and spectators aghast when the referee said he saw nothing. The game ended 2-1 with us remaining in 13th position.
Northwood currently lay four places and four points below us in the East Division table with their Interim Manager Jake Heracleous looking to push the squad higher up the league table.
