Middlesex FA Senior Charity Cup

Uxbridge produced a great team effort to secure their place in the Middlesex FA Senior Charity Cup Final with a win against Vanarama South side Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Our first chance came on 15 minutes when Thomas swung over a free kick which was headed just wide by M'Bengui, on 27 minutes a pinpoint pass by Tomkins to Maguire split open the Hampton defence but Maguire saw his shot fly just over the crossbar, we went in at half time all square but with a positive attitude.

Hampton made their first change at half time which spurred them on, they secured the ball then kept if for periods of the second half , McCarthy made three excellent low saves and our defence stood firm throughout, on 69 minutes Stefanoaica came off after a knock giving Dillon his first appearance for the club.

On 90 minutes we looked the more hungry for penalties. We secured the taking of the first penalty which M'Bengui slotted home, Hampton then missed their first, Thomas scored our second with Hampton blasting their penalty high and wide, Tomkins made it 3-0 before Hampton scored their first, up strode Pink who slotted the ball past the keeper for our victory.

Our opponents in the final are still unknown as Ashford Town (Midddx) and Northwood still have to play their semi-final.

The Final will be held on Tuesday 7th May at Hanwell Town FC.
