This Saturday we make the 60 mile journey to Hillgrounds Road to take on Kempston Rovers.
We have met on four previous occasions winning just once in the 1995 FA Challenge Cup where we ran out 4-0 winners at Honeycroft, our goals coming from Gill (2), Sam & Latty. Our largest defeat came earlier this season losing 2-0 at Home, at half time Kempston had wrapped the game up scoring twice with Chevy Hart receiving his first caution, in the 90th minute the referee showed Hart his second caution of the match and we ended with 10 men. Despite the result Tony Choules was pleased with the battling effort showed after the half-time break.
This season has been up and down for both sides with Kempston's last five league matches showing one win home to Moneyfields on 23rd December, the final score being 3-1 with goals from Ivy, Heneghan & Crawley and four losses. The Walnut Boys received some good fortune in the Big Free Bet Cup, after losing to Royston Town in the last round they were reprieved after Royston had played an ineligible player and were thrown out of the competition, on Tuesday 9th January they took on Premier Division side Biggleswade Town going on to record a 2-0 victory which now sends them into the Quarter Finals, once again Uxbridge old boy Luke Heneghan was on the score sheet.
Kempston Rovers currently lay two places above Uxbridge in the table having played one match less so this should be a competitive match.
